Gallery Trustees
Shaping the Future of the Gippsland Art Gallery
As a not-for-profit institution, our work is made possible by the dedication of our supporters and the vision of our trustees. Together, they help us grow the collection, host incredible exhibitions, and bring art closer to the community.
Meet the trustees who are shaping the future of art in Gippsland and ensuring creativity thrives for generations to come.

John Gibson (Chair)
John is a retired dentist who came to Sale in 1980, and stayed!
The Gallery, still quite small at the time, became an attractive institution to be associated with, and has remained so.
The Gallery Foundation was conceived in 2019 and John was the inaugural chairperson. A wonderful group of enthusiastic Trustees, all working on a voluntary basis, have concentrated on creating a safe and effective professional management entity for those who would like to support our Gallery into the bright future that it has.

Ann Wootton (Vice-chair)
Ann is a retired company executive who has returned to Gippsland after many years away. She remembers fondly visiting the gallery as a child after school.
Ann was thrilled to be able to join the inaugural Foundation Trustee Board to help establish the Foundation and support the continued growth of the Gallery.

Howard Connor
Howard is a retired Consultant Physician who moved to Sale in 1988. Over the years since, the ongoing progress of the Gippsland Art Gallery has been an inspiration to what can be achieved in a rural area.
Whilst my knowledge of Art is only basic I was very pleased to become a Trustee of the Gallery Foundation to help support an organization that showcases Local, National and International Art.

Jennifer Oliver
Jennifer is a lawyer based in Sale.
Joining the Foundation in 2024 Jennifer has enjoyed the ability to support the Gallery and is passionate about the Gippsland Art Gallery Foundation and the opportunity it offers donors. One of the substantial benefits of the Foundation is the ability to engage with donors. The size of the Foundation and its volunteer board ensures that donations flow directly and efficiently to the intended purpose, ensuring maximum benefit to the Gallery and the community.

Dan Davine
Dan is a proud lifelong Gippslander, raised in Warragul where his strong family roots remain. A chartered accountant by profession, Dan built a solid foundation during a decade in public practice before taking on senior finance positions in the corporate worlds of London and Sydney. He now brings that wealth of experience to his role as the Chief Financial Officer of Dyers Transport.
Beyond the numbers, Dan is deeply invested in his community. In addition to his role with the Gippsland Art Gallery Foundation, his passion for giving back has seen him roll up his sleeves across a wide range of local groups—from school councils and theatre groups to scouts, footy clubs, cricket teams, and cancer fundraisers.
Now based in Longford, Dan shares a busy, vibrant life with his wife Emilie and their three school-aged children.
